Split PDF
Split one PDF into separate documents by page range or at chosen page numbers.
Browser first, server fallback Free .zip
What this tool does
Split PDF cuts one document into several files, either by page ranges you write, at the page numbers you choose, or into one file per page. Every output keeps the original page content and quality because pages are copied, not re-rendered.
The work happens in your browser. Ranges are validated before anything runs, so 5-3 or a page beyond the end is rejected with a clear message instead of producing an empty file.
How to convert it
- Add the PDF.
- Choose ranges, split points or one file per page.
- Split and download the ZIP.
When to use it
- Separating chapters of a report.
- Extracting the signed pages of a contract.
- Splitting a scanned bundle into individual documents.
What it cannot do
- Each result is a separate PDF inside a ZIP.
- Encrypted documents must be unlocked first.
Questions about this conversion
Is this PDF tool really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no daily limit on the number of files. The tools run on your own device, so there is no per-file cost to pass on to you.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Not for this tool: the conversion happens in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere. Where a job genuinely needs a server, the page says so before you start and deletes the copy with the job.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Pages are keyboard reachable and the drop area accepts the phone file picker. Large documents are limited by the memory of the device rather than by the site.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. We claim no rights over your documents or the files produced from them, and we add nothing to the output.
What range syntax is accepted?
Comma separated pages and ranges: 1-3, 5, 8-10. Spaces are ignored. A range that runs backwards, or past the last page, is rejected.
Do I get one PDF or a ZIP?
A ZIP when more than one file is produced, a single PDF when there is only one. That avoids an unnecessary archive step for simple splits.
