Publisher to PDF
Convert Microsoft Publisher files on the server through LibreOffice, the only dependable .pub reader.
Server conversion Free
What this tool does
Microsoft Publisher stores documents in a proprietary .pub format that no browser can read. This tool converts them on the server with LibreOffice, which includes the libmspub import filter — the only dependable open-source way to open a .pub file.
Because it needs a binary on the host, the page checks availability first. If this deployment has not installed LibreOffice, the button says so plainly instead of failing halfway through an upload. No result is ever simulated.
How to convert it
- Add a .pub file.
- Check that the page reports the server converter as available.
- Convert, wait for the job, then download the PDF.
When to use it
- Rescuing an old Publisher newsletter or flyer.
- Converting a client-supplied .pub file without installing Publisher.
- Archiving Publisher documents as PDF.
What it cannot do
- Requires LibreOffice with the libmspub filter on the server.
- Complex Publisher layouts may shift; check the output before publishing.
Questions about this conversion
Is this PDF tool really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no daily limit on the number of files. The tools run on your own device, so there is no per-file cost to pass on to you.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Not for this tool: the conversion happens in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere. Where a job genuinely needs a server, the page says so before you start and deletes the copy with the job.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Pages are keyboard reachable and the drop area accepts the phone file picker. Large documents are limited by the memory of the device rather than by the site.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. We claim no rights over your documents or the files produced from them, and we add nothing to the output.
Why does the page say the converter is unavailable?
The server has no LibreOffice installation, or the binary is not in the allowed path list. That is a deployment setting, not a bug: the tool refuses to run rather than produce a broken file.
Can I convert .pub without a server?
Not reliably. The format is binary and undocumented; every browser-side attempt would be a guess. LibreOffice on a server, or Publisher itself, are the honest options.
