RTF to PDF

Convert RTF files to PDF while keeping paragraph structure and basic emphasis.

Runs in your browser Free

The conversion runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

What this tool does

RTF to PDF reads the rich text control words that RTF uses for paragraphs, bold, italic and underline, then sets the result on paginated PDF pages with the margins you choose. It is the quickest way to turn an old .rtf archive into something everybody can open.

The converter runs in your browser, so confidential correspondence stays on your machine. Paragraph breaks, alignment and emphasis survive; embedded objects and images do not, because they are stored as separate binary blobs inside the RTF.

How to convert it

  1. Add an .rtf file.
  2. Choose the page size and margin.
  3. Convert and download the PDF.

When to use it

  • Opening a legacy RTF file on a device without Word.
  • Archiving correspondence as PDF.
  • Printing an RTF document with predictable pagination.

What it cannot do

  • Images and embedded objects are omitted.
  • Fonts other than the document default are approximated by the device font stack.

Questions about this conversion

Is this PDF tool really free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no daily limit on the number of files. The tools run on your own device, so there is no per-file cost to pass on to you.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

Not for this tool: the conversion happens in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere. Where a job genuinely needs a server, the page says so before you start and deletes the copy with the job.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Pages are keyboard reachable and the drop area accepts the phone file picker. Large documents are limited by the memory of the device rather than by the site.

Can I use the output commercially?

Yes. We claim no rights over your documents or the files produced from them, and we add nothing to the output.

What happens to tables in the RTF?

Cell text is kept and separated by tabs, but the table borders and column widths are not rebuilt. The content survives; the grid does not.

Are special characters handled?

Yes. RTF unicode escapes are decoded, so accented letters, CJK text and typographic quotes come through correctly.
