What this tool does

Scans and phone photos come with white borders, a black strip left by the scanner lid, or half a desk in frame. Cropping keeps only the rectangle you draw, so the page shape finally matches the content.

The crop box is written by pdf-lib in your browser: the file is never uploaded, and the page is not re-rendered. Text stays text and images keep their original quality — only the visible area changes.

What it cannot do

  • The rectangle is drawn on the first page. When pages differ in size it is clamped to each page rather than rejected.
  • Cropping hides what is outside the box, it does not delete it — the bytes are still in the file.

Is this PDF tool really free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no daily limit on the number of files. The tools run on your own device, so there is no per-file cost to pass on to you.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

Not for this tool: the conversion happens in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere. Where a job genuinely needs a server, the page says so before you start and deletes the copy with the job.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Pages are keyboard reachable and the drop area accepts the phone file picker. Large documents are limited by the memory of the device rather than by the site.

Can I use the output commercially?

Yes. We claim no rights over your documents or the files produced from them, and we add nothing to the output.

Is the cropped content really gone?

No, and that matters: a crop box tells the viewer which part of the page to show, while the rest stays in the file and can be recovered. For confidential material use redaction, not cropping.

Can I crop only one page?

Yes. Leave the page list empty to crop every page, or type numbers such as 2, 5-7 to crop just those.
